Ochre Adit
in Złoty Stok
This is a newly opened tourist route that astonishes with its natural colors, extraordinary history, and unique rock formations. Touring this adit is a completely different experience than the Mine — calmer, more atmospheric, almost mystical.
What will you see?
Exceptionally narrow and magical place
In the Ochre Adit you'll traverse tight passages whose walls are coated with natural ochre — an intensely orange-yellow pigment formed from iron compounds. The same mineral has been used for centuries in the production of paints and cosmetics. The corridors shimmer with colors you won't find anywhere else.
Immerse yourself in this magical place and discover how fascinating the interior of the mountain can be.

Unique pigment and ochre color
The orange-yellow walls are the result of iron compounds — they give the corridors their unique appearance. Ochre was used, among other things, in paints and cosmetics — here you'll see it in its natural state.

Traces of the fire-setting method
Soot marks are visible on the walls and ceiling — remnants of old mining techniques. This is one of the few routes in Poland where such clear traces of this method have been preserved.

Tools of former miners
At the educational panels you'll see what tools were used and how people worked underground several hundred years ago.

Flooded shaft and pipe system
The original shaft with wooden lining and a unique drainage system from several hundred years ago. You know such constructions from engravings — here you'll see them in person.

Healing water source
A mineral spring with health-promoting properties, known from studies dating back to World War I. According to German reports, it aided the treatment of wounds and anemia.

Underground silence and atmosphere
The adit enchants with its atmosphere — quiet, cool, and narrow. An ideal place for a reflective walk and a break from everyday life.
